The Columbia (SC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to present the 2020 Delta Dear of the Year, Soror Jessie C. Byrd. Soror Byrd has been affiliated with our public service organization for forty-seven years. Her energetic approach and dedication have equipped her to fulfill numerous leadership positions throughout the years.
Soror Byrd leads a truly inspirational life that exemplifies the characteristics of a very humble and phenomenal woman. She is a valued member of the Sorority and provides her institutional knowledge and wisdom to the chapter and its leaders. Her exceptional contributions are demonstrated by her continuous commitment, unwavering involvement, and active participation with the Chapter.
She can always be counted upon to encourage and support others as they seek to grow in Delta and to lift and provide comfort when the need arises. Not only is Soror Byrd actively involved in Delta, but she willingly takes the time to reach out and engage in community efforts where she has served in several altruistic capacities. Soror Byrd’s contributions to the Sorority and the Community stand as a testimony of her love for and commitment to the ideas and principles of the Sorority.
